WiFi Hotspot at First Monday Trade Days
Texas cell Net provides a pay as you use service for areas west of highway 19 only.
* There is no web page to link you to to make this easier. However it should be a simple matter for you to get set up.
* The next time you are at the Canton Trade Days check your wifi for available services. You should find one named firstmondaywifi, this is the router name.
* Once you click to connect to this router you will be taken to a page. On this page you can sign up for the service.
* You will need to make sure you use a valid email address and the correct billing address for your credit card. Any discrepancies or differences in credit card information will cause the transaction to fail.
* This service is set up so you can choose your length of connection. Below I will list the available plans and costs as they stand today. I cannot guarantee that these prices will not change. However I will endeavor to keep them as up to date as possible.

Based on whether you are a vendor or visitor and how long you expect to be on the grounds or need the service. One of the various plans will fit your needs to a tee.
- 1 Hour
- $2.95 | Note: This provides service for one hour at a time only, you would have to pay again for an additional hour. If you are shopping and will not be in the grounds long or need the service long this will work great.
- 1 Day
- $8.95 | Note: This provides service for one day only. For the shopper that plans on covering a lot of ground this will keep your access available all day long.
- 1 Week
- $24.95 | Note: This provides service for one week. This may be the best plan for vendors. If you come in on Wednesday and leave on Monday your covered with access the whole time.
- 2 Weeks
- $32.95 | Note: This provides service for two weeks. If you are in Canton and near to the grounds the 2 Weeks or Monthly service could become your primary Internet Service
- 1 Month
- $52.95 | Note: This provides service for a full month. This is best for those that either live within range or have a permanent business, shop or location in or near the Canton First Monday Park.
- Limits
- There are some limits that will hopefully be resolved in the near future. At present there is only one antennae and it only covers part of the grounds. Primarily it covers the main areas and pavilions on the west side of Hwy. 19 north of Hwy. 64.
As I understand it the intention is to locate another antennae site that can be used somewhere on The Mountain that will cover the main areas off Hwy. 64 and east of Hwy. 19. At this time I cannot provide even an estimate of when this might happen. However I will update this information as often as I get new information to post.
This service is provided by a local ISP's (Internet Service Provider) in East Texas. They are TEXAS CELLNET INC. and are located right here in Van, Texas. They can be reached at (903) 963-5151 if you need service for your home or business in the Van or Canton areas.
There are many uses for Wifi at the Canton Trade Days events. Vendors can use it to enable online payment acceptance or verification right on the grounds. Internet capability can be used for comparisons of products and prices for vendors and stores online or off.
Visitors can use it to access sites about the Trade Days in Canton or about particular vendors. They can also use it to show examples of what they want when ordering custom items. It can be used to access the 1stmonday.com directory to find a particular vendor on the grounds. The directory is not yet enabled but will include vendors locations when possible and should be available in the near future.
